Packing dilemma. (I do not own copyrights to this photo) |
Getting ready to travel to a tropical paradise? Recently, I have been asked by friends about what to bring when going on a summer getaway and how to make sure they all fit in their suitcases. This is where the phrase Been there, done that comes in. However, I am still modifying every time I do pack. What I am to give to you is an updated version of how I pack my things. Since I am going to the Philippines soon for a 2-week stay, I too am packing and I worry a bit because I might forget something or I might not have enough space for souvenirs.
It is better to keep your things organised both in and out of the suitcase. We won’t need to make charts for this because it doesn’t need that much thought. Also, you can use the items I’ve listed and estimate how much of it you would actually need for your trip. It will come to you naturally and you might find a better way of doing it, feel free to share if you do. Let’s start with what’s inside my suitcase.
The first agenda that is running on my mind all the time is what I will be wearing and how I can make it convenient to bring clothes that will look great but also not too bring too much that I would end up not using the others. In this list you will find multiple numbers of clothes that can be matched with one another at any time of the week. Oh and since it’s summer after all, you might as well stick to bright colors for the day and some dark ones for the night.
Clothes:
- 4 Dresses
- 2 Shorts
- 2 Skirts
- 3 Shirts
- 3 Tanks
- 2 Cardigans
- 2 Scarfs
- Sandals (Flat & Heeled)
- Flipflops
- Sneakers
- Ballet flats
- Platform espadrilles
Now you can start placing your things in the suitcase. First layer should be your shoes. I normally pack each pair in small plastic bags before I put them in. After you can put the folded clothes on top of the shoes but only on one side of the suitcase followed by the rolled-up garments. On the other side you can place your toiletry bag and perhaps squeeze-in some books you think you would be reading in your trip. Every girl has a make up kit but some don’t bring a lot so you can squeeze your kit in your toiletry bag if it’s big enough or just place it adjacent the bag in the suitcase. This goes the same for your accessories which should be neatly put in a small bag.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more traveling tips.
